Newly elected President of the Métis National Council, Clément Chartier, addressed the gathering from the podium and mentioned his trip to Normandy with two veterans, Charlie Fosseneuve and Francis Godon. Minister responsible for Veterans Affairs David Chartrand spoke and made presentations to five veterans. Bruce Flamont also spoke.
